And that's the end of that chapter

Well then, this was fun. As much as I enjoy pastry, I always had my doubts. Every night I felt that I hadn't worked hard enough, I hadn't made enough change in the world, I wasn't satisfied.

Not ever wanting to give up, I stuck it out. The classes at the start were very basic, maybe the advanced would get better. Now, having gone through some of the advanced curriculum I realized it's not the classes problem, it's mine.

I miss teaching. I miss interacting with students and educators. I miss turning on people to new ideas and watching people develop. There is still a need for really awesome teachers like myself and now I bring impressive baking skills to the mix.

Anyway. Next step? I'm thinking elementary. I am going to keep my k-12 art credential and teach art while working on my multiple subject credential. In a few years I want my own elementary class, teaching every subject with a little bit of an art twist. I also really need to figure out a master's at some point. In time, in time.

I'll bake, and I'll still post but it may be about the fun times volunteering in elementary schools, interviewing and subbing.

xoxo

Pastry's loss is education's gain!! Allegra, I'm so glad you did what you did because you'd always wonder, but I"m thrilled that you are gonna be with kids because I know how good you are with them! I'm thrilled.

Also, congrats on your engagement. Sorry I didn't say anything sooner, but I have been doing the happy dance in your honor, AND he's a cutie. Good snag, girl.

Hey Thanks Jennifer. He is a great guy and I am so lucky.

No regrets here, I've only grown from this. Thank you so much for the support!!!

I hear you. I had NO idea how much I would miss teaching. Can't wait to be done with my degree and get back to the classroom. And think of all the faculty parties that you can now grace with fabulous desserts?

Just so you know, the kids and educators miss you too.

Good luck on your "elementary" intentions. But if you ever get tired of the ankle biters, come back to land of snarky teenagers and snarkier (so-called) adults.

I have an art blog here in San Diego and would like it if you became friendly here with us.

Ms. Fullerton, that is awesome! But some words of wisdom from someone 2/3-or-so? of your age:
-My mom teaches elementary school. Be careful about public schools because
a. you basically raise the children, and
b. no child left behind makes your job ridiculously and unnecessarily difficult
-If you're not coming back to Moreau, then you should at least come back on a regular basis to visit- with cupcakes. ;)
-hahaha is that other comment from Mr. Porper? or Mr. Gongwer? because i think that's soooo funny

PS: this is maya... not sure if you caught that.
